Jessica and Sawyer’s Breckenridge elopement began just before sunrise surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery and alpine lakes. 🙂

This sunrise elopement was originally planned for the same day at sunset. The forecast was showing severe thunderstorms and rain, and Jess and I texted back and forth the day before going over our options. Only 12 hours before meeting up the next morning, we decided to move everything to sunrise. This meant a very early wake-up call and meeting at 5am, but it was WELL worth the last minute change!

Jess and Sawyer put on their matching boots and shared a ‘first look’ pre-sunrise, overlooking the stunning mountain scenery. The sun began to rise and the mountain peaks were drenched in colorful pinks and oranges. There’s truly nothing like watching nature ‘wake up’ with you! Shortly after, we hiked to an alpine lake where they shared hand-written vows and officially became husband and wife. To have the mountain peaks and wildlife as your witness is one of the BEST parts of eloping in Colorado! They shared a ‘first dance’ and popped champagne before we made our way to a different alpine lake.

The second lake was SO still that morning, making the reflection on the water absolutely stunning. I’ve been to this lake many times over the years, and I had never seen the water so clear and still. I remember being so in awe of the nature surrounding us and feeling so happy that Jess and Sawyer had such a perfect morning elopement! We then hiked along the lake to a forest area where they set up their hammock and shared snacks. I love that they got to soak in their time together this way; to just relax and be together.

…dozens of marmots and pikas, hundreds of wildflowers, and some of the best of Colorado’s gorgeous scenery. Breckenridge is one of my all time favorite areas for a Colorado elopement. The variety in gorgeous views, hiking trails, and accommodations in town make it one of the best locations to get married!
