Breckenridge Fall Elopement

One of the most special parts of photographing Tamar and Anthony’s beautiful Breckenridge fall elopement was that it was on my own wedding anniversary date of September 27th! We seriously had perfect fall weather in the mountains, and the aspens were still changing to their fall colors in the distance. September and October are two of the most popular months for elopements in Colorado, and for good reason. Who doesn’t love crisp mountain temperatures and the changing colors of the aspen trees?!

Sapphire Point Fall Elopement

Tamar and Anthony’s elopement took place at Sapphire Point, one of my many favorite locations in Colorado. This is a wonderful location because of it’s easy accessibility, on top of the stunning mountain and lake views. Tamar and Anthony drove separately to Sapphire Point to pull of a first look, and when I first met with Tamar, she asked if I could hold onto a gift she had for Anthony. I immediately put it in my backpack for safe keeping and thought of how that’s such an awesome idea for them to share a special moment together later on. When I went to get Anthony after he arrived, he also asked if I could hold onto a gift that he got for Tamar! I had to play it cool and act like I wasn’t dying over how adorable they both are for doing that for each other!

These two had their first look at the start of a trail surrounded by trees and it was SO beautiful. First looks are one of my favorite things to photograph in an elopement day! It takes so much of the pressure off to see each other before your ceremony and allows you time to just be together before you’re officially married.

After exploring and taking in the incredible mountain views with the fall colors, these two finally got to exchange their letters and gifts. It was so special to see their huge smiles reading each other’s letters! Exchanging letters or gifts with your partner on your elopement day is another wonderful opportunity to share such a special moment together, and will help make your day unforgettable.

Sapphire Point Elopement Ceremony

Part of what made their ceremony so special is that Anthony’s dad officiated. This is ANOTHER awesome way you can make your ceremony memorable and more ‘you’. In Colorado, you can self-solemnize so you don’t technically need an officiant or witnesses. It’s great if you have a loved one who can officiate, but they don’t need to be ordained here. You can have a family member or friend ‘officiate’ and they don’t need to be qualified since you don’t need someone official. This is perfect if you’re having a small ceremony and want to keep it as intimate as possible without hiring an officiant.

As you’ll see in the photos, at the very end of Tamar and Anthony’s ceremony and right before their first kiss, the wind lifted her veil in the air in the most MAGICAL way. I remember visibly gasping (and probably crying) because it was such an unreal moment for something like that to happen!
