Jessie and Adam flew out to Colorado from Nebraska to have their elopement in Boulder, Colorado on a beautiful June day. The entire day was rainy and gloomy, and as I was driving up Flagstaff Mountain, the rain disappeared and the sunshine came pouring in! I couldn’t believe my eyes, but that’s definitely Colorado weather for you! You never really know what you’re going to get, but thankfully it worked out in our favor (it always does guys!). These two had their closest friends and family present to witness their sweet ceremony and to celebrate with afterwards.
They had a first look privately in the gorgeous green trees. Oh man, these are always my FAVORITE because it’s so sweet to see each persons face and reaction. More than anything, it helps the couple loosen up and have a breath of fresh air before the ceremony! After that, Jessie walked down the “aisle” with her dad. By “aisle”, I definitely mean nature’s path which I’ll take any day! You can self-solemnize your wedding in Colorado, but these two had their good friend officiate for them which was really special. Their ceremony finished and as we were on our way to hike to a gorgeous spot, a rainbow appeared! Thank you Colorado for the beautiful weather this spring day!
Jessie, Adam, and I hiked out to one of my FAVORITE spots in Boulder! First off, please notice how Jessie is wearing Chacos. She’s kind of my spirit animal because I wear my Birkenstocks basically everywhere when I’m not in hiking boots. Yes, you can do WHATEVER you want on your wedding day because it’s your day! Adam had their pup Kona’s face all over his socks, and they also had Kona’s dog tag wrapped around her bouquet. It’s truly the little details that make your day special and even more meaningful.
We climbed up some rocks through the trees to see the sun was shining bright as ever! The foothills looked blue-green, and it was a truly gorgeous evening in Colorado. The mountains, the rocks, their total adorableness and love for the outdoors… it was just magical! I always always always recommend taking time on your wedding day to get away and adventure around. This is great to just take in the scenery, and to really focus on the fact that the two of you just got MARRIED!
We headed back to the Stone Shelter area so they could sign their marriage certificate, and finished up with some stunning photos in the grass and wildflowers. There were little purple flowers all around, and it was just incredible to see. June in Boulder is so gorgeous because the weather is amazing, the grass is green, and those flowers make everything a little bit more magical. Their intimate wedding day was a DREAM to witness and photograph. Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder is one of my favorite places in Colorado, and I’m so thankful for incredible couples like these two! Enjoy a glimpse into their beautiful day. xo
