Adventure Engagement Photographer in Colorado

Having a hiking engagement session in Colorado means you HAVE to be flexible and prepared for whatever kind of weather this beautiful state has to throw at you! This is especially true if your session is at a higher elevation in the mountains. The rain and wind came out of NOWHERE this day, as it often does in Colorado. We decided to start hiking up anyways in hopes the rain would pass. Yes, these two hiked up in their beautiful clothing and looked amazing, despite the stormy weather!

When we reached the summit, the views were absolutely stunning, but BOY was it freezing! I’ve experienced hurricane and typhoon weather conditions before, and there were easily 50mph wind gusts this day. Thankfully, the rain had stopped so it was just a battle against the wind haha. Lauren and Ryan were total troopers in handling the crazy weather. They made this beautiful location in the Boulder mountains look even more gorgeous than normal. Also, high winds can actually be great for photos. Wind-swept hair and a flowy dress blowing in the right direction can look amazing!

Those white-capped mountains in the near distance, beautiful greens and trees are the perfect backdrop for a Colorado engagement session. Hiking up a mountain in a long flowy dress, button down and pants, and hiking boots is pretty freaking incredible! It’s 100% worth the challenge for views like this and sometimes total privacy, which was the case for us this day. There’s nothing like finally reaching the top and being able to soak in those stunning views together. The Colorado mountains definitely have a piece of my heart, and there’s nothing like being able to experience it with my amazing couples.
