This anniversary session was a total dream for me from start to finish. Loralee and Dan were celebrating eleven years of marriage together and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. A typhoon had hit Okinawa shortly the day before their session, which of course meant one thing that I absolutely love – AMAZING BLUE WAVES. Okinawa is already incredibly stunning, but when you add that blue water crashing in, it becomes even more magical! Loralee looked absolutely beautiful in her dress, especially against Dan’s military dress blues. These two were so easy to photograph and 1000% down for whatever I asked them to do. I remember asking them to stand next to a rock in the water, where the waves were somewhat gently crashing (nothing above the shin). As soon as they walked over, a giant wave came and crashed into them and I remember us all just laughing! By the end, we were all completely soaked in salt water and had sand everywhere, but it was completely worth it and I wouldn’t have wanted it ANY other way. It’s not just about the incredible photographs captured, but the memories made while taking them. I had so much fun with these two, and I swear every image is my favorite! From the intimate moments captured by the rocks with the best kind of sun flare, to the epic images in the ocean with the water crashing all around them… I’ll always love these so much! I’m a huge believer in celebrating your anniversary with photographs every year – not only do you get to have irreplacable moments caught on camera, but you get to have a super fun evening with just the two of you. As Loralee so eloquently wrote on instagram, “leave the kids at home; ditch the prom poses.” I COULDN’T AGREE MORE. <3
